Yesterday, I applied the last batch of Proseal sealant to the fuel tank when I installed the fuel float gauge and sealed it up. While it cures for a couple of days before I can leak test it, I need to find other things to do. I decided that before the leading edge gets riveted on to the wing, I should finish up the installation work on the Duckworks Landing light.

In a previous session, I had cut and deburred the hole for the light. Now, above, I used the template on the paper sheet to locate and drill 3 holes on top and another 3 on the bottom to hold the lens in place. You can look close above and see the small aluminum retainer strip drilled and clecoed in place.

Next, the plexiglass lens is marked, cut to shape, and the edges smoothed and polished.

The lens is tightly pulled into place inside the leading edge, and these screw holes drilled and countersunk

Here are the holes in the leading edge, ready to be dimpled for the screws.
