Riveting on nutplates - 1.5 hrs.

Tonight, I continued my work on the inboard end rib of the fuel tank. As I'm doing whenever it's possible, I did this work for both the right and left tanks.

Last night, this stiffener ring was drilled into place on the end rib. Now it's time to drill and install all the nutplates. Above, you can see them in place. All 12 of them. It looks like lots of rivets to hold a few nutplates in place, but that's what it takes.

All finished! After squeezing all the rivets in place, here's what it looks like from the outside of the tank. The cover access plate gets bolted on here on this side, so the rivets need to be flush and the surface flat and smooth.

And here's what it looks like on the inside of the tank. Tomorrow, I'll start work on the cover plate.
