Dimpling and Some Riveting - 2.0 Hrs.

Today I got busy and dimpled the big F-774 top fuselage skin. Boy, there are more rivet holes than meet the eye on this skin! It really feels good to get this done. I'm not going to rivet it on just yet. In fact, I'm not even going to cleco it back in place. For now, I put it safely away out of harms way. I just wanted to get this dimpling done before doing that so I don't have to come back to it later. It's ready to cleco on and rivet when the time comes. Yeah!

Above... dimpling is all finished. All the dimpling from here on out will be with smaller more manageable pieces.

In the remaining time I had left tonight, I studied the aft top skin, and decided that there's no reason not to rivet it down now.. I can't see any reason not to. I hope I'm not wrong. So I started riveting the skin on. I don't have a riveting partner here right now, so I can only do a few.

I was able to reach these 5 rivets with my squeezer and the longeron yoke. Then, the 5 on the other side. The rest will have to be shot and bucked.

I can reach a good number of these myself for solo riveting, but I need to find a riveting partner before I can really get this done. But until I find some help, there are plenty of things I can work on in the meantime.
