Hosted Walking Events are normally held on weekends or special holidays/celebrations.  These walks will have club members at the start, about midway, and finish of the course to help you get started and complete it.  The event will have a start time normally allowing several hours in which you can start and adequate time for you to finish.  Events are not competitive and times are not kept.  In most hosted walking events, the trail will be marked with colored arrows and ribbons designating where the walk goes.  A map and written directions will also be available.  Swims, bikes and other sports will be similar to the walking events when they are held.

Saturday, December 31, 2011 - New Year's Eve Walk   - 6k/10k - Rated 1+  
Walk begins between 10am and 1pm
  (start at McMenamins Tavern & Pool, 1716 NW 23rd, Portland, OR)

The walk will be on sidewalks and go thru the NW section of Portland , pass thru Downtown and Old Town areas of Portland. You will pass over 140+ places to eat and 90+ places to drink.

Sunday, January 1, 2012 - New Year's Day Walk   - 5k/10k/15k - Rated 1+  
Walk begins between 10am and 1pm with a finish at 4pm.
  (start at McMenamins East Vancouver, 1900 NE 162nd Ave. #B-107, Vancouver, WA)

As in the past 3 years, the New Year’s Day Walk will have 3 different 5 km loops to walk. The NW loop has been revised to go into a small park and get off the busy NE162nd St and NE 28th Streets. The Southwest loop has a minor revision to get you off the busy 162nd Street. The SE loop, which was new, last year, will remain the same as last year.
