Power Series. World
Texan Series. This is my second "World
Texan Series" (which sounds like both a very limited and at the
same time, very broad-based baseball league). The model is great,
and looks great, but it didn't photograph as well as I thought it
would; or, perhaps, it is the new "matting" used as the
base.
The base is cut out of a sheet of GeminiAces recently released 1/400
- 1/200 scale airport extension. I was hoping the new extension would
solve a lot of the background problems experienced with other bases,
which are usually too orange, or grey, or green, or are too bright,
or dull, or fake-looking (such as cloth or tile). I'll give the new
base a few more tries, but it may not be dark enough. The best base
I've every had is the eztoys Airport Mat Set, but I can't get a large
enough continuous section to underlay the larger scales, such as 1/72
or 1/48.
Apologies for the poor pictures, but, then, I wouldn't keep at this
if it wasn't for the chance to experiment (and, of course, to buy
cameras, lenses, tripods, and (lest we forget) models). |
