Archive. Italy - The Battle
for Monte Cassino and Beyond. Can you imagine how difficult
it was to get those stripes to line up on the production models? Anyway,
to get the reds and yellows to stand out more as befits the unique
color scheme, I increased the saturation in the pictures. This limited
edition model was produced in 2004; the limited edition model in the
previous update was produced in
2001. There were 5600 copies made of the 2001 Mustang, but only 2600
copies of this Mustang. That difference would probably go a long way
to explain the financial problems Corgi started to run into in the
middle of the first decade of this century. Lack of mass in mass production
can really hurt.
Had some fun with the two "nose" pictures at the bottom;
the first was shot with a blue-sky background, the second with a black-velvet
background. The "pose" is exactly the same in both pictures,
but the difference in the final effect is startling. |
