| These colorful late war
diecast add some zip to any collection, and the colors are somewhat
reminiscent of the schemes found on German planes in WWI. Unfortunately,
the models were all manufactured in the middle years of Corgi's
diecast reign, so each has some quality issues, most notably scratches
and dings and thinly applied paint. Green 1 was manufactured in
2007 for the U.S. market, and was packaged in the black box with
slip cover. It was also part of the token
program. Both Yellow 5 and the Nowotny came in the red-striped
picture boxes; Yellow 5 was manufactured in 2005, and the Nowotny
was manufactured in 2006. Of the three, I find the Nowotny most
appealing, though Yellow 5 was easiest to photograph. Green 1 was
a pain in the subject, and I'm still not happy with the pictures;
the saturation setting was critical, because too much of same produced
a really garish green.
After a terrible month it is a relief to get back to the web
page, at least for a little bit.
