Geisha Beer??? What's the connection between geisha and beer???

It all started out a few years ago when I started my homebrewing hobby. But before we go on I'm sure you want to know what the connection is between geisha and beer, aside from the obvious that geisha serve and drink beer. Homebrewing is my hobby that I started a few years ago when I lived in a somewhat upscale neighborhood in Tokyo. Then one thing followed another and we ended up moving to a larger place fairly close by which allowed me to expand my brewing hobby. My current location is at the Eastern edge of the traditional geisha district in Tokyo. Hence the bottom line is that I brew in a geisha district. This area not only has a history of geisha, but also brewing traditional Japanese alcohol, sake. So, rich with tradition I decided to name my homebrew after the historical district.

Now you're wondering about geisha, right? Do they really exist in this area? In fact they do. There is an office on the ground floor of the building where I live that is an agency to coordinate and schedule geisha's work. Yes, there are geisha in and around my neighborhood and several very specialized small restaurants that cater to geisha and their clients (not open to the public).

This is my initial website page and I will be adding to it and updating fairly regularly. Please bookmark my website and check back often for updates and new information.

Cheers!
