Memorial Tennis Tournament

Home Page

The Tournament is the brain child of  "The Friends of Amber". This group of dedicated people is made up of Amber's former students, instructors, partners, teammates, family, and, most of all, friends.  Through a unique association formed by The Friends of Amber, a partnership between the Vancouver Tennis Center and Club Green Meadows has been established to host this special event.  With the nine indoor courts of the Vancouver Tennis Center and seven at Club Green Meadows, the tournament runs smoothly and on time.  This is a United States Tennis Association Sanctioned Open and Senior Tournament.  The tournament has been selected as the "Tournament of the Year" in the past, and draws quality players from near and far.

The proceeds of this tournament benefit high school seniors in Clark County, Washington.  Each year, two high school seniors are selected from applications received.  The selection criteria are not based on tennis ability, team standing, or grade point average, but rather on a love of the game of tennis, sportsmanship, and citizenship in his or her school.  Tax deductible donations may be made to the Amber Goheen Harlan Scholarship Fund at the Community Foundation of Southwest Washington, 703 Broadway, Suite 610, Vancouver, Washington 98660.
