Jeff Welsch is an award-winning writer and editor who has produced nationally regarded sports/outdoors sections for the past 15 years, contributed freelance work to a wide variety of publications and provided copy for various Web sites.

Sherry Moore has a newspaper background, has contributed to stories for myriad newspapers and magazines throughout the West, and most recently has worked as a promoter/marketer for businesses ranging from a semi-pro soccer team to a winery.

Writing Tip
Cadence is one of the key elements to compelling writing. For best cadence, write in sequences of three. "He came, he saw, he conquered" might never have gone down in war lore had it been "He came, he saw, he attacked, he conquered" or simply "he came, he conquered."

Editing Tip
“It’s or its? Here’s a simple test: If you can say “it is” just as easily, then you need an apostrophe. If not, then it’s possessive and it’s a simple “its.” Example: “It’s the first time Montana has played on its home field.”
