""7835 Bracket (4032)" -- The Graphic Kennels, Netherwood, N.J., Breeder, R.P. Leach, Devon, Eng. Whelped February 8, 1884; liver white and ticked; registered E.K.C.S.B., 17,798; imported January 16, 1886; by "Champion Graphic (4067), out of "Bloomo (4136)"."

" In December, 1883, R.P. Leach, of Beers, Cadbury, Devon, England, bred his bitch, "Leach's Bloomo" to "Graphic" and on February 8, 1884, she whelped a litter, of which "Bracket" was one. He developed into a lightweight dog weighing about fifty-three pounds when in condition, but he was a compact, muscular pointer with splendid bone and substance, showing nothing of the lightness in loin and thighs that were the faults of his sire. In head, shoulders and chest he resembled his sire greatly. At eleven months of age he was shown for the first time and won second at Crystal Palace, where he was beaten by
"Naso of Kippen".
Later on he became the property of E.C. Norrish, and his show career subsequently was a brilliant one."
-- Hochwalt, 1923
""Bracket's" last appearance in England was at Birmingham, in December, 1885, where he won first and the special cup for lightweight classes, beating "Naso of Kippen", "Dick II", and a number of other good ones. At that time he was already the property of the Graphic Kennels, but he did not come to America until January 1886, where he continued his bright career, winning championship honors in quick time. "Bracket" came over an unbroken dog, but he was one of great natural quality and soon acquired the art of hunting American game birds. In action he had a much easier stride than "Lad of Bow" or "Graphic"; he was very fast and seemed possessed of unusual stamina. Just why he was not developed for field trials is not entirely clear, for in addition to his great natural quality the dog was very biddable and handled well at all times."
-- Hochwalt, 1923
"His breeding [Bracket] was par excellence, for his dam, "Leach's Bloomo", was by "Champion Bang II", out of "Whippell's Belle". "Bang II" was by "Price's Bang" out of "Leach's Belle", while "Whippell's Belle" was a daughter of "Wagg II", out of "Whippell's Lady". Here in America he was bred to a number of good bitches, but they were owned mostly by men who were more interested in bench shows rather than field trials, and as a consequence they were given little opportunity in the latter direction. However, he sired a number of winning sons and daughters. His most noted son being "Lad of Kent", ... as the frequent New York winner, out of "Renie", a daughter of
"Tammany". "Bracket", like most of the Graphics, was dark liver, white and ticked."
