"Dual Ch. Ben of Bobbing"
-- "F.C. Lowe's Ben of Bobbing", Image scanned from Pointers and Setters by W. Marr.
"By 1920 dogdom was again active and shows and field trials were once more in full swing. "Lune Prince", at this time owned by Tom Moorby, whose kennel was founded in 1919, created a wonderful record, but there was one pointer which beat him on several occasions. This was "Ben of Bobbing", who became a dual champion."
-- Edmondson and Robertshaw, 1978
"The post-war period in Pointers opened, to all intents and purposes, with the shows of the '20's. "Lune Prince" ... early in his career ... met a few defeats at the hands of a dog a few months older -- "Ben of Bobbing", later to become a dual champion, and owned by Mr. F.C. Lowe and Col. F.B. Winch. "Ben of Bobbing" was bred by Mr. W. Harter and was by Dick out of Stella." -- Lola Macdonald Daly, The Pointer as a Showdog"
"The next extraordinary dog was "Ch. Ben of Bobbing" by "Stylish Dick" out of "Lowe's Stella". This dog was whelped in 1920 and was a topclass stockgetter of best type. I (W. Marr) had the pleasure of watching the dog during the Sping Trials near Ipswich in 1922. I was most impressed by the dog's quartering and supreme style and superlative nose. I tried to purchase the dog but I could not compete with the Americans, and so it happened that he went far too soon to the States. I decided to purchase his litter brother -- "Stylish Moorhen" but I had to wait until "Moorhen" was 7 years old as Mr. I. Sharpe required the dog as a stud-dog in his own kennel. I bred a lot of very good dogs by "Moorhen"."
