More information about Raccoons
In these next few pages I would like to share more information, helpful links, and pictures.
Raccoons are wonderful animals and mine have been a joy to have, but they can be quite destructive and mischievous.
They can be very aggressive and well, mean as well, specially if they get something like food or change (any shinny thing) and things there not suppose to have more often then not.
Breeding season is another time if he or she is not fixed. Males can be neutered as early as 4 months if they have dropped, females should be 6 months or more before spaying.
The experience I had with my boys is even though they were neutered still had the drive to breed. I always have big stuffed animals for them to use, also they don't want to be bothered when they're doing it, so I give them their space. With my girls I rarely saw behavior like that. I give them all lots of toys and stuffies just to play with or rough house on.
My raccoons have free run of the house most of the time. I have some problems with my Banshee and Bandit so I have to keep them separated.
Raccoons also become attached to only one person and will only tolerate others sometimes. Rocky and Bandit are my baby's, I can pick them up and do pretty much anything with them how ever no one else can, they might let other's pet them but that's it. Rachel will only let girls around her and no one is allowed to pick her up but that's ok she is really big lol. Banshee is a daddy's girl and only he can carry her or scruff her if need be. She's a handful haha.
Joining groups is how I learned a lot about raccoons and they have helped me a lot with mine.
So on that note please visit the rest of the site and as always there are some other great sites in my favorite links page.
