AZTECA HORSE REGISTRY OF AUSTRALIA
Formed in 2004 to register horses of the cross of Quarter Horse and Andalusian Blood
While keeping the free front shoulder, natural collection and athletic ability of the Andalusian gene pool (horses descended from Spain or Portugal registries) crossed to the also athletic Quarter Horse, this new breed of the world, can do it all. Dressage, Eventing, Jumping, Team penning, Cutting, Cross Country, Ranch work, Natural cow sense, Loving - Smart temperment. All colors allowed. Some of, but not limited to, the Registered stock that forms this breed are: IALHA(USA), AAHA(Australia), AQHA(USA), AQHA(Australia), APHA(USA), PRE(Spain), PSL(Portugal)
This is a fairly new breed which started in Mexico about 30 years ago and is the National horse of that country. Breeding and registration in the USA and Canada was started in the 1980's. American breeders and owners believe that crossing these two breeds is reaching back into the original gene pool of the Quarter Horse. Horses that the Conquistadors dropped off on that continent, formed the wild mustang and cow pony of the South Western states. There are only a couple thousand of them world wide. The idea of this cross appeals to horse owners around the world for any athletic event. There are small pockets of them recently in England, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and Spain. This is not just a Partbred Andalusian, but the beginning of a new breed.
For the present time the office of the registrar is maintained in the USA, on the NorthWest Coast
