Windows: Outlook Express Disconnects When Checking Email

1. Open Outlook Express.
2. Click the Tools menu.
3. Go down to Options and click.
4. Click on the Connection tab at the top.

5. Make sure the box that says "Hang up after sending and receiving" is NOT checked. This is the most common reason for the disconnects. Also make sure "Ask before switching dial up connections" IS checked.This will prevent Outlook Express from disconnecting and trying to dial another, possibly old or non-existent, connection.
6. Click OK.
